Archos 704 Wi-Fi player reviewed
The Archos 704, one of the most highly publicized players to come out in the past couple months to North America, has gained attention because of its large screen and premiere attempt at useful WiFi PVP connectivity.Techgage reviewed the model. Here's a sample of what the reviewer had to say: "The 704 is a well built device. Aesthetically, it’s similar to the company’s other products but loses the buttons on the right side of the screen...The bottom is where you’ll find the speakers and IR receiver. Yes, they’re tiny speakers. And yes, they don’t sound good at all. If you’re looking for a Hi-Fi like experience, stick to headphones."

Xent X3 reviewed
The cradle-docking, eye-popping, uber-shocking Xent X3 has been reviewed by PMP Inside. Even though it's not slim, it's pretty darn sleek. This one's not out in the US, but here's a paraphrased snippet of the translated review:"All the features make it a weapon powerful enough to take the place of your entire entertainment arsenal."

The adult swim Zune
As a personal fan of adult swim myself I'm pretty excited about this story. And for all you other readers that love Venture Brothers, Aqua Teen, Sea Lab, Harvey Birdman, and Robot Chicken, here it is... the Zune "adult swim" edition. There are two down sides to this exciting annoncment. First of all it's still a Zune, and second of all it's a limited edition, only 500 will be made and given away as a promotional Turner event.Obviously these units will have pre-loaded content, including photos, music, and, naturally, such classic shows as Assy McGee, Metalocalypse (rawk), and even a new program titled Lucy, Daughter of the Devil (on screen).
Now if only we could get Microsoft to continue making Zunes with new colors and etchings, surely that will distract us all from the fact that they haven't actually done anything to improve the platform since launch (or launched any new devices, for that matter).

Cowon D2 2 GB PMP reviewed
Carlos Bergfeld over at the Wired blog has reviewed the new D2 2 GB portable video player available from Cowon. Among its features are a touch screen interface and support for a ton of video formats.Quote: "Its gorgeous 2.5-inch LCD isn’t just for looks—the D2 sports a slick touch-screen interface for navigating through audio, video, image, and even text files. Add in playback for open source, lossless, and other obscure audio formats (ever heard of Monkey’s Audio?) and you’ve got a player even the crustiest of techno snobs can get excited about."

Korea's Atree UJ10 - a cell phone PVP that's not a cell phone
It looks like a phone and smells like a phone (that's what I've read anyway), and yet it's not a phone. The key layout looks just like a trusty Nokia, but they're really just PMP controls. The 3.2 inch screen can show off OGG files, as well as MP3 and WMA/V. It's available in 2 and 4 GB, and currently only setting its sights in Korea.
One thing's for sure -- even though it has no calling capabilities, I'd love to have a phone that looks just like this little guy.

Beetle-based PVPs heading out from Volkswagen
Beating Edsel to the punch, the Beetle portable media player (PMP) was announced at a Seoul auto show that just wrapped up. Available in classic Beetle colors, Volkswagen and LG are offering the player in 2 GB and 4 GB varieties. The 2.6 inch LCD screen can play MP3, WMA, OGG, MPEG-4, and WMV files. Seems like a great "get one free with a test drive" idea to me.
It's certainly not a feature-packed player, but when was the last time we saw something actually worthwhile from a car company other than cars?

Archos 204 reviewed
The latest offering from the always-formidable Archos company is the Archos 204. The ArchosLounge has reviewed it, and the conclusion is basically that it's just standard, at least as standard as a massive 200 GB HD PMP can be."It is sure, one is far from a iPod, but one is far also from the XS202 on the given lustre to surface, even if the family tie is there. The fault in cost on this non-skid surface, not inevitably pleasant to the eye but on the other hand, it is due well in the hand." That's a snippet from the Google translated version of the French review.

New video player brings out your inner "Slacker"
Just when we thought portable video players had exhausted the full circle of possible designs, a new start-up called Broadband Instruments announced the Slacker Media Player. The screen takes up virtually all of the space on the device and the back has a sloping design to make it look just a bit more sleek. The main different about the Slacker Media Player, though, is that it has its own Internet radio network that users can listen to. It's coming out some time this summer.
Available capacities will range from 2 GB to 12 GB, with prices from $150 to $400.

Teclast New T59 PMP
It seems that Chinese manufacturers are lured to the attraction of the iPhone concept and cloning, with lackluster originality, is the way to go.But, maybe Teclast’s impending T59 may side-step similar concepts, stylings, and specs -- and possibly include a Windows CE-based 3G device with GPS, WiFi and FM, along with a VGA screen, an exceptional secondary display and other goodies -- without overstepping Apple’s legal boundaries. We’ll probably end up pulling this one up from our archives in the future.

Sony Enters The Ring Against The Nano
Word is seeping through the cracks that Sony has lifted its head from its mighty PS3 (for the moment) and it has turned its attention to creating a player that challenges the iPod nano and SandDisk Sansa. This Sony’s contender sport features similar to its NW-A3000 and NW-A1000, but without the curves, and it’s a bit thinner. But, the feature that really stands out is 8 to 10 hours of video playback; long battery life that Sony is known for and that Apple’s nano lacks.
This 2, 4 and 8GB capacity player’s screen will be a landscape design and larger than the nano’s. But, the buttons should be the same as the A3000 series. At launch, expect this player sport an array of colors such as violet, black, blue and pink. If the rumor is true, prepare to pick from the Sony tree in March.

Cowon's iAudio D2 PMP
Cowon’s iAudio D2 multimedia player received CNET Asia’s Editor’s Choice award and an ‘excellent’ rating of 8.4 out of 10. Rightfully so, after we tell you what we learned about its awesome features. The D2 issues a sharp, precise and intuitive touch screen that works well with the included stylus, but can work just as fine with your fingers. This peculiar looking stylus also acts as a stand for the D2, giving it a double benefit. You’ll also fully appreciate the fact that it can expand from the on-board 4GB to 8GB through the available SD/MMC card slot. This must-have supports all the other audio formats, including OGG Vorbis, FLAC, and APE.
How about a whop’n 46 hours and 23 minutes of battery life and a transfer speed of an almost instant 5.33MB per second? Who cares about the slight picture delay and the hit or miss radio frequency? Even if we did, it’s not coming anywhere near North America.

Zune Screens Crack Under Pressure
A tipster has it that Zune is cracking under pressure. You mean there is something wrong with the Zune, say it isn't so! Story has it that when it’s left charging overnight, the Zune screen just – cracks. From what we know, the lithium ion battery resides right beneath the top portion of the screen and puts pressure on the screen causing it to overheat… and then POP, and there you have it… a screen all cracked up.Sadly, Microsoft won’t own up to it and states that the damage is outside the warranty coverage. So, users are pretty much SOL (sadly out of luck, so out of luck… anything but what you were thinking).
This could be an exaggeration, or users could be calling in and weaseling up a lie to get a free repair or replacement. That leaves the question… Who else out there are all cracked up?

Quote: "The Philips PMC has a truly lovely design--it reminds us quite a bit of the now-defunct Samsung YEPP YH-999 PMC, only with better controls. Like the Samsung, it's more square than rectangular--measuring 3.7 x 4.2 x 0.8 inches--so it looks more like a little TV than some other PVPs do. The screen is large (3.5 inches diagonal), and the viewing angles are great; two or three people could easily watch it at the same time."

While Apple hasn't officialy released a means to play HD video from an iPod onto your TV it doesn't mean others can't. Meridian is the other one that did with their MV-D1 iPod dock. The red box has a Source, Format, and Connect button to go along with the volume keys, and houses Marvell's 88DE2710 digital video format converter to handle the upscaling. Reportedly, the dock can take any stored SD / HD media and output it via HDMI, cleaning up the noise and artifacts in the process.

The device sports an orange or black color scheme, 128MB of storage, an SD slot, USB 2.0 connectivity, AV in / out (NTSC / PAL compatible), built-in equalizer, a 2.5-inch LCD, voice recorder, and a "digital video camera" that can purportedly snap stills or record full motion video to your SD card.It measures 115x65x18mm, weights 90g, and costs a meager 63.00 euros. I'd give you the conversion in dollars but what's the point it would only depress me since this is yet another over functional device that won't be available in the US.

Sheng Jay's New Ugly GPS PMP
We’re sure the name NavMonster was meant to describe the power under the hood of this device. But, could it quite possibly mean that a hood should be completely covering it? The not-so-attractive 1.2-inch thick SJ-5289 NavMonster created by Sheng Jay is bundled with plenty of features like the extremely viewable 7-inch 800 x 480 widescreen LCD, the SiRFstart III GPS, Windows CE 4.2, 32MB of ROM, 64MB of RAM, 400MHz Intel CPU, complimentary MS apps, CF/SD/MMC slots, SIM card slot and an option for GSM/GPRS connectivity.
No word on how much this device is worth or its arrival to the US. But when it arrives maybe some bumping and rough handling through shipment may make it look… well, more attractive?

Toshiba's Gigabeat V30 Goes Pink and Blue
Pink is the new blue. Or is it blue is the new pink? Well, whatever the case, Toshiba seems to have made a desperate attempt to repaint their Toshiba Gigabeat V30 to your choice of a pink or blue V30E. It couldn’t be because the robust V60 and the Zune left an amnesiac impression on music player lovers, you think? The slightest difference is the integrated 1Seg TV tuner. No new changes to the specs, though.
If all else fails, a good paint job can make almost anything look new and exciting. Except the price tag. It still hangs at ¥49,800 ($434 US).

The MX-400M PMP
A mediocre DAP calls for desperate measures. Korea’s Median wittingly made-over the MX-400 by tossing in Callipia’ VoIP software and made use of the existing sliding USB jack, mic, and speaker, and … Boo yah! You’ve got the MX-400M MP3 Player. Along with the MX-400M totes an IR remote control, SD slot, 20 hours of playback of Li-Polymer battery and a 2GB on-board storage. Adding cherries to their desperate measures is an FM radio, line-in recording, and support for MP3, WMA, ASF, OGG audio and AVI, MPEG1, 2, and 4, and WMAV video formats viewable on the 1.3-inch 250k TFT LCD. Take it or leave it. If you wanna take it, chuck up 14,000 Korean won ($161 US).

Newman D20c PMP
Do you recall the Cowon iAudio F2 that Newman produced about two months ago and those 80’s Casio calculators? Well, we’re almost sure the D20c is the offspring of the iAudio F2 and one of those Casio calculators. Between the big button interface and its square, almost scientific-like features (like the old calc), we would say there’s no need for a genetics test whatsoever. With a 2.4 inch 480 x 220 screen, the D20c will show XviD movies, as well as play MP3 and WMA audio files. The 80GB hard drive is nothing to yawn at, but some Chinese sources mention that there are 20GB and 40GB drives in the midst. For good measure, Newman also threw in flash memory slots for SD, MMC, memory stick and CompactFlash cards. It’s available right now – in China – for ¥2,000 or $254 (US).

Aigo's UH-P706
Aigo’s UH-P706 stumps the competition into ground with its 160GB of video/picture viewer capacity. Even Epson’s P-5000 or Canon’s M80 large 80GB are defeated by this fierce competitor. This device supports RAW and TIFF, AVI, MPEG4slot for SD, MMC, Memory Stick, and CF card formats. Though a larger screen would be desired than the 3.6 inch screen offered, and there was no mention of audio codes or even the ever-so-common MP3, the supported features and its monstrous-sized capacity makes us a little less critical.
The UH-P706 is only available in China for the asking price of ¥9,977 or $1,248 in U.S. dollars.

iubi's Blue gets DMB and a new HDD
We’re blue with envy of iubi’s Blue PMP. Sporting a whole new DMB receiver and a 60GB HDD, they had the nerve to drop the price to roughly $433. Absent is the Bluetooth logo, which may mean the same for the connectivity. What may make up for the loss is a 480 x 272 4.3-inch display an exaggerated all-inclusive codec support. We don’t count on seeing iubi’s Blue making it to America, but we can admire it from a distance.

While this player certainly holds nothing against the iPod id say it could rival some of the cheaper PMPs out there. The player can record up to five hours of programming, can learn IR codes from your remote, has an integrated speaker, USB connectivity and 512MB of internal memory.
So since the player is designed for kids how easily can they get content on to it? According to Toy Quest, the Rip Roar connects between your TV and set-top box. You can use any remote to train the cradle and program the desired shows for recording. Once it's time to record, the Rip Roar automatically switches to the right channel. As soon as it's finished recording, you can unplug the Rip Roar and watch your video on its screen or dump it onto your PC with the included USB cable.

Shic P-1000 PMP With DVB-T Reciever
I really wish other PMP companies would take a risk at competing against Apple and release their product in the US. It seems like all the cool all-in-one PMPs are only released in Europe and Asia. And the new Chinese Shic P-1000 with DVB-T is a perfect example. In addition to the video from the DVB-T receiver the player will also support MPEG-4, XviD, DivX, and of course, you can jam to MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV and ACC music files.
The P-1000 will stay powered up for 4-6 hours of video or 16 hours if you're only playing audio. It appears to also have an SD card slot on one side, and possibly a line-in jack as well.

Gemei X-900 Gaming PMP
It seems like everyone and their cousin has released their own PMP a lot of which are now even containing game play features. But what about a PMP that is predominantly a handheld game console with the added bonus of a digital entertainment center. The new Gemei X-900 has the ability to play SNES and NES Roms and displays them on a 4.3-inch screened device at a mere 0.6-inches thick, but you can bulk up with some dedicated controls to spice things up, which include dual analog sticks along with the usual compliment of buttons.
Otherwise, it's pretty standard fare -- though the PMP does manage a small built-in camera. The screen sports a 480 x 272 resolution, there's 1GB of built-in flash memory along with an SD expansion slot, and the codec support includes FLAC, MP3, WMA for audio, along with AVI and MPEG-4 for video.

Ainol V1000 NES Emulator PMP
Well now it seems that the new standard feature of a PMP is game play, particularly emulators for old school systems. With that in mind we take a look at the new Ainol V1000 NES-playing PMP. This sleek player boasts a 2.5" QVGA display and has a 400MHz processor.Aside from Mario Brothers the V1000 can also play AVI and MP4 video files at 30 fps as well as audio playback in MP3 and WMA formats. The player has a internal hard drive of 512MB or 1GB with an external SD slot to expand you gaming and video playing capabilities.
Although details concerning battery life, availability, connectivity, and price aren't yet available, we're sure these handy all-in-ones will be popping up in China's gadget shops real soon.

A New 4GB iriver Clix?
Is it true? A new upgraded iriver Clix? Well thats what rumors from Swedish tech site Min Hembio would lead us to believe. The new iriver Clix will come with a new color and higher capacity. Swedish tech site Min Hembio managed to obtain a trio of clearly professional product shots of the new Clix in its black shell. The exact release date as well as a lot of other information is still unknown about this new PMP. Right now about the only known information is that this player will be black and have a 4GB hard drive. Price is projected to be around 2,499 Swedish Kronas ($338).

The New Ramos RM400
At first glance the new Ramos RM400 looks like a stylish high performance player; however, looks can be deceiving. While the player supports the major formats of MPEG 4 and AVI the screen that displays them is only 2.2" with a 320x240 pixel resolution which seems just a little too small for prolonged viewing. But wait it gets worse there is only 512MB of internal memory so just shy of enough space to fit a high quality full length movie. While this player certainly has nothing on the iPod or some of the more advanced PMPs the good news is that the price is very reasonable at about $50. While global releases aren't known yet it is expected to hit shelves in China this week

The Skardin HT-250
Here comes Skardin, yet another company making an entrance into the PMP market with the new HT-250. This new device packs a 2.4" color LCD display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (sorry no widescreen). The HT-250 is compatible with most standard video files including MPEG 4, DivX, and Xvid. The player also has a built in DVB-T receiver and an AV out port.Currently there is not much more information known about this new PMP but it is likely it will be compatible with MP3 files as well. Also the HT-250 has thrown in the memory card slot of choice, SD, to carry your media on.

The RCA Lyra X3030
One problem with a lot of PMPs is that they hardly have any internal memory, so you always have to decide what content you want to put on the player. Well that's not a problem with the new RCA Lyra X3030 Personal Media Recorder. The new X3030 is a pocket sized device is able to hold 120 hours of video on its 30GB hard drive. There is also a 3.6" LCD screen that has very crisp images and is perfect for personal viewing, there is also a built in microphone for voice recording.
The player has USB to transfer files to and from your PC and is compatible with services like Yahoo! Music Unlimited and emusic.com. The X3030 also has the ability to record video from sources such as analog TV and DVDs via DivX.

Apple to Announce Wireless iPod Video
Come on, you didn't really thing the "It's Showtime" announcement was going to be it for the year did you? Well it's not, according to engadget, Steve Jobs & Co. are supposedly finally about completed with the wireless / video iPod. This new iPod that is currently still just a concept will feature a widescreen touch display, and will be completely wireless.Supposedly Steve Jobs and Co. are preparing to announce this new device in the very near future so keep an eye out for it. I mean come on the nano and shuffle got complete makeovers, it's only fair the iPod does too.

SOLVO's New S830 PMP
It seems like everyone keeps coming out with the "all-in-one" PMP and they all think they are the first. Well although it isn't the first, SOLVO's new S830 all-in-one PMP with DMB and GPS sure is one of the sleekest. This new player sports a beautiful 7" screen and runs at 480x234. The player only has 128MB of internal memory though, so no watching a whole TV series or movie unless you can fit it on a SD card (a 1GB SD card is included)The GPS is powered by a SiRF Star III chip, while TV is the standard T-DMB variety, along with an AV-in plug, both of which are recordable if you've got the storage space. You can watch live TV anywhere that uses DVB-T for digital broadcasting. That covers much of Europe, Australia and parts of Asia and South America.

The Swedish PMC200
In the world of Swedish PMPs it looks like there may be a new king. Swedish Valei Computer is ready to take the crown as they release the first PMP in Sweden in 8 months. Their new PMC200 comes with a host of features including a 3.5" screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and compatibility with DivX, AVI and MPEG.This player also has your standard features of video out and the ability to read text files plus something not every PVP can do, record videos. The baby also only has up to four hours of battery life and for now is only being released in Sweden. The player may hit the UK sometime in the future but will probably never make it to this side of the Atlantic.

The all-in-one KNC HR-2800
I've said it before and i'll say it again, here is the most functional all-in-one PMP. KNC recently unveiled their new HR-2800 which sports a 3.6" LCD, 400 MHz CPU and a homebrew GUI to boot. The player supports AVI, MPEG4, DivX, and XviD as well as MP3 files. The player doesn't just stop there though it has software programs for every feature like a portable version of "Winamp". The player also has a 1.3 megapixel camera, and video output.
Don't go anywhere yet though we're just getting started, the feature that makes this unit the most unique one I've seen yet is it's video game capabilities. This player will apparently include NES and GPA emulators to get your retro game fix. However the one downside is the player only has 1GB of internal memory with an SD card slot. The price is quite reasonable though at just around $127.

Toshiba DVD and Portable Media Player Hybrid
Toshiba reccently showed off their new video player at CEATEC in Japan which is an attractive mix between a DVD player and PMP. The player supports DivX video codec and 1seg digital TV. In case you're wondering, 1seg is an HD mobile digital video broadcasting service in japan that was officially launched in April of last year, and uses the H.264 video codec. While there are still a lot of questions about this new unit one fact that took many by surprise was the lack of a widescreen. Also sorry to all my non-japanese readers, this one is for Japan only.

The New JXD628 All in One PMP
The Chinese company JXD has come out with one of the most versatile PMPs yet. The 1GB JXD628 sports a 3" LCD video in and out and your standard features of calculator, calendar, and even a electronic dictionary. Now while some PMPs only allow you to create slideshows with pictures from other sources the JXD628 resolves that problem with a built in 2 megapixel camera. Another interesting feature is the rumor of some sort of video game functionality.
The downside is memory, this player only has a internal hard drive of 1GB and while there is an SD slot you still can't hold to much video at once. As far as file support the JXD628 offers DizX, XviD and ASF for video, MP3, WMA, and WAV for music, and just the simple JPEG for slideshows. Also another downside is only 4-5 hours of battery life. So it looks to me like maybe they are trying to pack too much into one unit to cheaply. I think a better hard drive could make this PMP one of the best.

The Wolverine ESP 120GB PMP
It looks like Mac users finally have another option. Wolverine Data has introduced its ESP a PMP that is compatible for both the PC and the Mac! This bad boy comes in 80GB and 120GB models. Each player has the ability to play video and music and display photos.Another very nice feature of this player is that it is compatible with all memory card formats. The ESP has a built in 7-in-1 flash media card reader making it compatible with CompactFlash, MicroDrive, Secure Digital, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and XD Card formats.
Weighing in at 10.2 ounces and display of 3.6" this seems like a nice little video player. The Wolverine uses USB 2.0 to connect to Mac or PC and can play all standard picture, music, and video files. The player also has an AM/FM Radio. Press Release

A Portable Video Player For Your Wrist
And you thought that all portable video players looked the same. Well here is a new innovative PMP watch. Similar to the Aigo F029, only much more attractive, the Shenzhen Adragon Digitek's MP4 watch let's you watch your favorite videos on the connivence of your wrist. And people were starting to think watches were going out of style because of cell-phones.The snazzy new MP4 watch has line-in capabilities, five EQ settings, and USB 2.0 connectivity. Heck you can even watch your favorite TV shows underwater as this watch sports a water/shockproof enclosure. Unfortunately it may be awhile before the watch actually hits the market so for now the only option is the ugly Aigo F029.

The iubi Blue 2500
There's a new player on the field and it's not looking to hot. Iubi is a new name to most but they have come out with a cheap high performance PVP. The iubi Blue 2500 has a 4.3" screen with a resolution of 480x272. The player is a 30GB internal hard drive and supports just about every video format possible. While at first it sounds like a great player, you might want to take a closer look. Iubi's goal was to create a powerfull player at a cheap price so they cut a lot of corners to do so.
To start it's rather large for a portable player Measuring 80 x 131 x 19mm and weighing 260 grams. Also it isn't exactly attractive. covered in swathes of anonymous black plastic this is not a quality housing like those found on an Archos player, plus it attracts finger prints like a crime scene. Handling the player on a daily basis makes you worry about the build quality and longevity.

Mio H610 Personal GPS Unit and PMP
While the Mio H610’s main purpose in life is to provide you with directions from A to B it also doubles as a basic PMP. The player uses touch screen that takes up the majority of the player. Similar to the FineDrive M300, the touch screen is very easy to navigate with large icons for each function of the player such as music and video playback. The device plays MP3 and Divx files via a SD card memory slot, sorry no internal memory here.
If you are more interested in a video player than look elsewhere, however if you’re in the market for a GPS and would like to watch a TV show or two in the car than this is for you. The Mio H610 will come out in November at a MSRP of $499.95.

The Archos 504, A 160GB PVP
We first mentioned the Archos 504 back in mid August, but there wasn’t too much information available at the time. Well now Archos has come clean on all the details of the new 160GB PMP. In my opinion this new PMP is the most versatile and capable of any PVP out there. Not only does it have 160GB of internal memory but can be used (with an addition accessory) as a DVR for your TV, so no more paying a monthly fee for TiVo.
The Archos 504 has a widescreen that measures 4.3 inches and if that isn’t big enough for you then just used the option DVR accessory. Not only can the player display MPEG-4 files on your TV it can also record from TV and other sources in MPEG-4 format. The battery on the player can play 17 hours of music or 5 ½ hours of video. Another nice feature that not a lot of other PMPs have is the ability to read PDF files.

The player features a 2-inch, 220x x 176, 262,144-colour display and plays back standard music files as well as MPEG 4 video files. Doghouse Electronics' RoverTV
There are a lot of PVPs out there that seem more like MP3 players with the added bonus of video playback. Well doghouse electronics' has decided to focus more on the PVP end and make a beautiful widescreen video player. While the RoverTV screen takes up most of the player (4.1") it is not touch screen like you may have guessed, in fact the buttons are located on the side. Another downside is the player does not come with any internal memory, but the player does include a 2GB SD card.
While the device was designed primarily just for video it also features music playback, photo and eBook viewing, voice recording and radio to name a few.
All in all, the RoverTV is a decent device with a nice wide screen, but performance is far from outstanding. You can only hold a max of 2GB on an external memory card, battery life is only around 6 hours and touch screen controls would help immensely. Sounds to me like this company is headed straight for the doghouse

MSI D310 Finally Hits Stores
The new MSI D310 that was announced in April has finally hit the market. The MSI D310 is lightweight and portabe weighing in at only 180 grams, yet still packing a beautiful 4.2" color screen. The Player also supports auto scanning, digital Teletext, a remote and AV out to watch your video on a larger TV.
As with most every other PMP the player can also be used for audio and photp viewing. The downside to the player is NO internal memory meaning you will need to get some high capacity SD cards if you want to hold any sizable amount of video.
The player has what's called a Freeway receiver, which means it'll work anywhere that uses DVB-T for digital broadcasting. That covers much of Europe, Australia and parts of Asia and South America.

The 30-gigabyte version, which I test-drove, comes in white and the 60-gig version is black. Gigabeat is also better proportioned than my iPod—at least for me."
