Zune 2 to Launch in October
The original Microsoft Zune hoped to topple the iPod as the king of PMP devices, but it was unable to do so. According to ZuneScene a new Zune is set to launch in October. The image makes the players look glossy, but they will have the same doubleshot surface the original Zune used that reminded me of frosted glass with a color underneath. The new Zune will be available in two sizes and the navigation button uses a square with rounded corners. The launch date is being pegged at October 18 and rumors point to 4GB, 8GB, and 80GB units.
ZuneScene says their source told them the new Zune's were in product validation as we speak. The Zune 2 will come in red, pink, black, and an army green color for the smaller device.
