Dell Buys PMP Firm Zing

delllogo.jpgDell announced on Tuesday that they had purchased PMP design firm Zing. No details of the acquisition were offered. Many see the move by Dell as a step into making Dell branded PMP devices.

In January zing partnered with FON to allow Zing customers to use FON hotspots for free. With this in mind it would be an easy stretch to see Dell bringing a WiFi enabled PMP device to market.

Zing also recently made a deal with Sirius Satellite Radio allowing their programming to be streamed to Zing devices. Dell spokesman declined to comment on potential future devices, my money is on a WiFi enables PMP that can stream Satellite radio. Via PC Mag
