Consumer Electronics Association sets standards for video players
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has set a list of standards for portable video players. This will make interoperability a little more feasible."This standard marks a milestone in the development of open industry standards. With its publication, this common connector standard will more easily enable device interconnectivity in the homes and cars of consumers," said a Microsoft chairperson in response.
So, everyone out there, if you want to build your own PVP, be sure to get yourself a copy of CEA-2017, Common Interconnection for Portable Media Players.
