Dream'eo Solo PMP with GPS Review

We reported about the dream'eo Solo 20GB PMP last November. PDA Today published now a review of the Solo with GPS.

While the unit is well equipped and the specs look great however the execution of the whole device leaves some room for improvement. The onscreen media interface tends to be sluggish at times and this I am sure is an issue with the now aging CE.Net 4.2, I would like to see a firmware refresh to the new 5.0 OS. "

RCA Thomson Lyra X3030 30GB PMP Coming

Thomson will release a 30GB version of its new Lyra X3000 portable media player.

RCA introduced the X3000 at the CES 2006. This rather cool PMP went on sale end of March. Wal-mart sells the RCA X3000 for $388.87.

The new RCA X3030 with the 30GB HDD is supposed to ship in May says a report on Engadget.

Sepot PMP with 3MP Digital Camera

Here is a little find on the Asian OEM market. Chinese Sepot Technologies offers an media player with an integrated 3MP digital camera.

The Sepot PMP features a 2.5 inch TFT screen with 260k colors, SD/MMC card slot and built-in speakers.
It supports MP3, WMA and WAV audio files, ASF and Jpg. The device can be used as a webcam and of course as a digital camera.




This gadget is not sold direct. Some company would need to OEM it first.
